The study of archaeological human remains in their funerary context is emphasised in this course. It builds on the School's significant palaeopathology and field archaeology research, as well as its related expertise in molecular archaeology, field archaeology, and archaeological biogeochemistry. The course places a heavy emphasis on applying scientific approaches to understand the history of humanity and integrating biological and archaeological evidence to address problem-oriented research themes. It offers advanced training in human remains identification and analysis, as well as methodologies and strategies for comprehending human skeletal morphological variation and ways to evaluate skeletal pathologies.
