Our Extended Master’s Public Health MSc begins with a 15-week programme that will help improve your English language ability and study skills before starting your master’s course in public health. There is also the opportunity for those who need extra English language support to complete a pre-sessional course prior to the extended master’s programme. Following this initial 15 weeks, you will go on to join our Public Health MSc. This will teach you about the fundamental factors when considering public health. From the viewpoint that public health policy is much wider than healthcare alone, this course will cover the social, political, environmental and economic determinants contributing to the health of the population and also consider how this can be improved. On completion of the course, you’ll be prepared for a public health career within the National Health Service (NHS), community and government organisations and agencies.
