You'll begin your journey by focusing on fundamental IT topics. As you progress through the program, you'll develop the in-depth and specialized computer knowledge employers are looking for. Object-oriented development in both Windows and Linux-based client/server systems; Software development; Client/server web development (both .NET and J2EE); Database development (MSSQL and Oracle) and; Code level graphics, animation and simulation with C++ and DirectX. Plus, Fanshawe is one of only three colleges with SharcNet - a super-fast supercomputer that you'll get your hands on in your second and third year. These days, you need more than computer skills to make you career mark. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your communication and interpersonal skills by completing a paid co-op work placement in your final semester to help you gain hands-on experience with real people in real situations.
