Established in 1887, Wrexham Glyndwr University was earlier known as Glyndwr University. It was renamed to its current name in 2016. It was given university status in 2008. The university became a part of the University of Wales in 2004. Over the years, the number of students increased at a rapid pace. Due to the increasing number of enrolments, the management committee of the university decided to expand its campus area and develop more faculty buildings. The university is managed by its Board of Governors. The university campus comprises three main halls, namely Wrexham Village hall, Snowdon Hall, and Student Village hall. The campus provides all the necessary facilities required by the students at the campus. They experience a calm learning environment. Annual functions, sports activities, fests, competitions, inter-college seminars, and quizzes conducted by the university are held within the campus. The campus also features a student cafe & bar.
