Canada issues Updated DLI list with a Covid-19 readiness plan
As planned, the Canadian government updated the Covid 19 readiness plan approved DLI list on December 1. The international students enrolled in the approved DLI list can travel to Canada to benefit from in-person classes. Before this, students who were issued study permits before March 18 could do so.
Previously, IRCC itself announced the list in a series of tweets. Two of its tweets are as follows.
“International students with, or approved for, a study permit who will be attending a designated learning institution with a #COVID19 readiness plan approved by their provincial or territorial government may be able to travel to Canada.”
“If you plan to come to Canada as an international student, your designated learning institutions must be on the list with approved #COVID19 readiness plans before you travel. Please be reminded that all travelers must have a plan to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Canada.”
For those who don’t know, Designated learning Institutes or DLIs are those Canadian Universities or colleges that have permission to host International students.

IRCC says that The next update is scheduled for December 15, 2020. The full list of the approved DLIs is presenthere.
If you are planning to move to Canada to complete your post-secondary education, make sure your university or college has its name in the above-mentioned list. i.e., it has the COVID-19 readiness plan approved by its province or territory. As a student, you will not be able to travel to Canada if your study program has been canceled or suspended or if you are travelling to Canada for any reason other than to study.
