IELTS — Academic & General
IELTS is divided into four core sections. Pyramid offers coaching for both Academic (for universities) and General Training (for immigration & work experience).
Academic IELTS
Listening
30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time
An examinee's ability to listen and understand a native speaker is judged through recorded conversations and monologues.
Reading
60 minutes
The reading test takes 60 minutes in which the examinee has to answer the questions after studying factual and descriptive passages. Through this test, the ability of the examinee to read and understand the English language is measured.
Writing
60 minutes
This 60-minute test consists of two writing assignments. The first task is to describe a graph, table, or pie chart in a 150-word passage; in the second task, the candidate must write an essay on a given topic in 250 words.
Speaking
11-14 minutes
In the speaking test, the examinee must demonstrate his or her speaking skills by answering a series of questions. Examiners may ask to introduce themselves, talk to the examiner and ask them to speak on the given topic.
General Training IELTS
General Training is also divided into four sections, with a focus on practical English skills for everyday situations — immigration, work, and social contexts.
Listening

PTE Academic Test Format
Writing and Speaking
77-93 minutes
In this section, the examinees are given 77–93 minutes to demonstrate their writing and speaking skills. The writing section is evaluated based on the correct use of spelling and grammar. Speaking skills are assessed based on the candidate's ability to communicate English verbally in an academic environment.
Reading
32-41 minutes
In this section, candidates are given 32-41 minutes, in which their reading skills are assessed. The section usually consists of 15-20 skills items, including fill in the blanks, multiple-choice questions, and re-order paragraphs.
Listening
45-57 minutes
In this section, candidates are given 45-57 minutes in which their listening skills are evaluated. The section consists of audio or video clips that play automatically. The candidates have to listen to the clips carefully as they play only once.
PTE General Test Format
PTE General evaluates communication ability across six proficiency levels, testing speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
