While trying to eliminate visa fraud, Malaysian government has tightened visa requirements and created an organization, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), which is devoted to regulating the visa enrollment process.

Once you have got your offer letter from the institution, then the next step will be to apply for student visa. You have two options to apply your student visa depending on your institution type- Online and Through Institution.

Students must apply for their study visa about two months before the intake date.

Students get some working hours to earn enough for their daily expenses. Moreover, International students studying at private institutes of Malaysia will be required to submit their class attendance report and performance to the Immigration Department every 3 months. International student can work while studying in Malaysia with the some conditions to earn for their day to day expenses.


Here are some conditions in which students can do part time job:-

  • Students are allowed to work 20 hours per week during their study.
  • Student must be on a semester break of more than 7 days.
  • A work permit approval from Malaysian immigration Office is required.
