Eligibility Criteria

If a course of study exceeds three months, a student must apply for a long-stay visa. This kind of visa lasts for the duration of your study in France, i.e., three years for bachelor's, two years for Masters and four years for Ph.D. A long-stay visa acts as a residence permit and is referred to as VLT-TS. There are multiple ranges of courses in which France has invested to a great extent. There are several fields which hold great advantages like Economics, Pharmacology, Sociology, Business and Linguistics. Education in France is flexible and suitable for every field of study.

Students need to provide two sets of application photocopies consisting of the following documents:-

  • Application form for long-term stay duration, which is more than three months.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs.
  • A photocopy of the valid passport must be attached.
  • Print out of Campus France ID.
  • Letter of joining from College or University.
  • Evidence of having sufficient funds to carry out the expenses.
  • Proof of medical insurance with coverage valid in France.
  • Photocopy of a one-way travel ticket must be attached.
  • OFII (Office Français d'Immigration et d'Intégration)
  • Proof of accommodation in France.
  • Copies of academic credentials.

How to Apply Study Visa for France

France Study Visa Process

To be eligible for a French study visa, a student must have an acceptance letter of their selected field of study. Applying to a French College or University is almost the same as applying for any other nation. It is prominent for International Students to recognize certain things before applying for a visa. After completion of the form, a student is ready to study at French College or University.

Following steps must be taken into account while applying: -

  • The applicant should carefully complete the institution's application form for entering a college or University.
  • A transcript of all the studies is required with the documents.
  • A student must provide a valid passport and passport-sized photographs.
  • Attach an essay written by a student as this will be a factor for the acceptance or denial.
  • Along with documents, the result of the English proficiency test is required. The result can be IELTS, TOEFL etc.
  • Attach the photocopy of the birth certificate along with the required documents.
  • In the end, link evidence of having sufficient funds to cover all your expenses.

An International Student from outside European Union can work for a maximum of 964 hours annually if the student's College or University does not have any objection. International students get some working hours to work in France, and the minimum hourly wage rate is Euros 7.67 per hour. The working schedule is divided into two parts: a maximum of 670 hours between 1st September and 30th June (part-time) and up to 300 hours between 1st July and 31st August. By this, students can earn enough to cut off their daily expenses.

  • A student can also apply and work at the University's International office or the marketing office.
  • Students can get ample jobs at cafes, restaurants, shops and markets.
